My Review.
This movie shows a side that before we hadn't seen, when it came out many knew him as the guy from high school musical, and I don't know about you but that did not sound like someone I would want to see on anything else. But I think he really proved himself. He was funny, and charming, and played his part well. The movie had good timing, which really helps to make a comedy not just funny, but worth while. Some movie makers have a good story line, and lose it. But I think they played it well. It is one of those movies I'll watch again, and even buy, for a day where I just want something funny.

To sum it up, It's funny, and well timed.

The Green Hornet

Plot:
After the death of his successful business man dad, Brett (Seth Rogen) Reid is left with the family newspaper company, knowing nothing about running a business. But with an idea and the help of his fathers mechanic Kato (Jay Chou), he may just find a way to run this paper.

My Review:
It was good, not the best super hero movie, but certainly not the worst. I had heard some terrible reviews about the lame action, boring dialogue, and bad acting. I will say now, I disagree, sure it wasn't the most fantastic movie, but I thought it was funny, in the beginning the acting was a little campy, but it got better as the movie went on. The action was what should be expected, and yes though you could say it was unrealistic, it is a super hero movie, sometimes their stunts are a little over the top. There was more language than I think people were expecting, so that was probably one of the reasons some people didn't like it. Over all I thought it was pretty good, not necessarily for younguns, but pretty funny.

To sum it up, I enjoyed it.

It's Kind of a Funny Story

Plot:
Craig (Keir Gilchrist) is feeling depressed, he checks himself into a hospital, minimum stay, 5 days. Is he as crazy as all the other patients, are the patients really as crazy as he thinks?

Review:
I will tell you ahead of time, I believe the PG13 rating is appropriate, though only by comparison. But it is different then the majority of PG13 movies, it is similar to a movie like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World if you were looking for kind of the reason it was rated that. It sort of reminded me of a mix of Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World and Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and then you add a hospital. It was quite funny. The cast was great. I love how the movie was put together, high five to all who helped with the editing.

To sum it up, it had it's downfalls, but I liked it.

How Do You Know?

Staring: Reese Witherspoon and Paul Rudd.

Plot:
Lisa (Reese Witherspoon) is a great softball player, but is she good enough to make it in next years team? It's started becoming serious with her baseball boyfriend Matty (Owen Wilson), that is as serious as he could get. But when some one new came along, would she stay or go? After all "We are all just one small adjustment away from making our lives work."

Review:
It was okay, not the best written movie, and that was kind of sad because it has such a hilarious cast, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd, Reese Witherspoon. So in that way I was disappointed, but it was okay. The trailers built up this really funny film, it was funny, but not really funny. Basically all the good parts were showed in the trailer. Jack Nicholson gave his usual boring performance, and Kathryn Hahn gave her usual hilarious performance. If you don't know Kathryn Hahn you should, because one day she will get a role that shows just how great she is, and you will want to know who she is. The "R" rating it was originally given was in my opinion inaccurate, not because I think it necessarily should be PG13, but because if you did a comparison to other movies that are rated R and PG13, I think it should go into the PG13 category. It had "The F Word" twice, but I mean honestly, lots of PG13 movies say much worse things.

To sum it up, it was alright.

Megamind

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Staring: Will Ferrell and Brad Pitt
Released: 5th of November, 2010.
Genre: Animation, Action, Family, Comedy, Sci-Fi.

Plot:
Escaping from dying planets two babies were sent to earth, both with strange ability's, one took on the name of Metro (Brad Pitt) Man and the other took a more "humble" name Megamind (Will Ferrell). One turned to the good ways of helping the city and the other took to the ways of destruction. Megamind and Metro Man battles for years until some fatal events left the city with no protector, and Megamind was set to rule the city, but he got bored of being the ruler and decide to create a new super hero to fight him. But as it seems that didn't work out and maybe Megamind isn't such a bad guy after all, maybe he does deserve love and happiness. Maybe megamind can take a turn at saving the city of Metropolis.

My Review:
It was great, the writers Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons must have had a blast writing this. It was very clever. You could watch it and pay attention and find that it has so many wonderful hidden things through out it and you would get so much out of it. Yet you could watch it, not pay attention, and still get it. It was wonderfully made, possibly one of the best animated films ever. Will Ferrell, and I'm sure Brad Pitt had a great time voicing it also, because it was so clever and funny. I would recommend this for every one except maybe children who are scared easily because there are a few moments that might scare a small child, but really it's great for anyone.

To sum it up, just watch it.

Forest Gump

Plot:
This is about a boy, who's a little different from the other kids, his name is Forrest (Tom Hanks), Forrest Gump. Forrest grows up with out many friends, he actually just had one, her name was Jenny (Robin Wright), he loved Jenny. From kindergarten, to college, to the army, to the shrimping business, many things have changed, but one thing was always the same, he always loved Jenny.

My Review:
Not only is this filled with good acting, and an interesting plot, but also it is filled with so much history. Though this movie is fictional and Forrest Gump wasn't actually involved in all the events in the movie, they are things that really happened in American history. This movie incorporates so many significant events, so well. It's a bit long, but it keeps you interested.

To sum it up, I like it allot!

Gnomeo and Juliet

Review:
This had the basic story line of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". You know two families that don't get along, because of ancient history, two young people fall in love one from each of the feuding families.. It was the same in that aspect, but this included some ally racing and a few ceramic law decorations.. all of which naturally talk. It was alright. It was pretty funny the first time I watched it, but really quite boring the second and third. There was really only two characters I liked, one a trusty sidekick and the other a strange bird. It was bright and full of energy, kids would like it for that. But I wouldn't say it's one of those movies that the whole family would enjoy... More then once.

To sum it up, eh it was alright.

Nanny McPhee Returns

Plot:
With her husband away at war, Isabel (Maggie Gyllenhaal) Green is left at home with her three children to take care of. She was doing well until her sisters two children came to live with them. The five children clashed and the house became crazy, Isabel didn't know what to do, but help was on the way, with Nanny (Emma Thompson) McPhee, but was it too late? Could the children be taught?

My Review:
It was made about the same as the other Nanny McPhee, by made I mean, similar filming, and locations. It was really what you expect if you watched the first one. If not, it was pretty fun, heart warming, you could say, and enjoyable. The movies are adaptions of children's books, so it's again what you would expect from that.

To sum it up, I think the kids and parents would like it.

Knight and Day

Plot:
June (Cameron Diaz) Havens has a normal life, until she get caught up with a former CIA agent Roy (Tom Cruise) Miller who was framed, and is on the lam. Can they prove him innocent?

My Review:
To my surprise, it was hilarious! I mean honestly Tom Cruise funny? Yes. It was good, it was unpredictable at times, which is always a plus. It had some language that might surprise people, but not to much. It was an average action-adventure-comedy. I liked, I laughed some.

To sum it up, it was entertaining.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Scott (Michael Cera) Pilgrim fell in love with a girl named Ramona (Mary Winstead) Flower, and had to battle her 7 ex's in a world of wild animation.

My Review:
The funny thing about this plot is that it's kind of hard to explain, I actually liked it allot. It was really funny but you kind of felt like it was supposed to be serious sometimes. It was a unique movie in it's animation, because as time went on it became more and more like a comic book. Michael Cera was great in this, he was the perfect choice for this role. I only said a little bit about the plot but that was because, there isn't really a whole lot to say. Scott was in a failing band, met Ramona and now is battling her evil ex's. It had wacky battle sequences, it was good. I wasn't really expecting to like it, but I did. I was surprisingly clean, I'm not saying it was, because it wasn't, but I am saying for the cast and plot it was surprisingly clean. But it does deserve it's rating.

To sum it up, it was pretty funny.

Easy A

Plot;
Olive (Emma Stone) didn't want to go with her friend Rhiannon (Alyson Michalka) and her hippie parents camping so she made up the excuse of having a date. When they returned to school Monday Rhiannon quizzed her about her date, and finally came to the conclusion that she must have slept with her date, and lost her virginity, not wanting to tell her friend that really she just didn't want to go camping and none of that happened, she let her friend believe what she wanted. Marianne (Amanda Bynes)overheard and spread the rumor. Olive was then approached by her friend Brandon (Dan Byrd) who was being made fun of because he was homosexual, so he asked Olive if she would pretend to sleep with him so that people would think he was straight. So at a party they went into another room and pretended to be drunk, and leave every one to speculation. This started a whole line up of people who want to be thought of better, asking to have pretended to do different things with Olive, in return she was given gifts. She was branded with some harsh labels, so she thought she would try and live up to them, at least on the out side. She found out many things she didn't want to know, and was blamed for things she didn't do. Through all this there was one person who never believed her, not even for a minute, it was her first almost-kiss Woodchuck (Penn Badgley) Todd. After so much had happened she couldn't take it any longer, it was time for her to tell the truth, since no one else would. She opened a live web cast, and told her whole story, start to finish.

My Review;
Honestly I wasn't a fan. It had it's funny moments, but not enough to get past all the rest of the boring parts. I liked the parts with Olive and Woodchuck Todd, and how she got people to watch her web cast, but that's about it. It was to much like just another teen movie. I really was just bored, I thought the people who edited the scenes didn't do the best of job. There were so many times when a scene should have been longer or shorter, and that goes allot to how people like it, they needed to do a better job of keeping people's attention. And the song "I gotta a pocket full of sunshine..." really does get stuck in your head, I did enjoy how that singing card scene was put together.

To sum it up, I just didn't like it.

Grown Ups

This is the story of a group of men who were once part of a champion basketball team, they all return to their home town for the funeral of the coach that took them there, their 8Th grade coach Bobby 'Buzzer'(Blake Clark)Ferdinando. After so much time apart with Lenny(Adam Sandler)Feder becoming a publicist, Kurt (Chris Rock) McKenzie a stay-at-home dad, Rob (Rod Schnider) Hilliard married an lady old enough to be his mom, Eric (Kevin James) Lamonsoff recently getting layed off, and last Marcus (David Spade) Higgins who is still a bachelor. First this was just about paying respects, but it became so much more. It became showing all their kids that video games and gadgets are not a childhood, it's about taking risks and getting dirty.

My Review;
It was funny, it certainly had it's awkward moments though. It's what you can expect from most Adam Sandler movies, they wont make your list of most inspirational or best picture, but they will make you laugh out loud and possibly make that list. It was entertaining. I would watch it again maybe with a group of friends, because it's often more fun to laugh with friends. It's rated PG13 so keep that in mind when you're going out to rent it. And in the rating description where it says "Male rear nudity", it happens twice, the first was a (Old) man after going down a really fast water slide, and the second was David Spade, getting up in the morning. Neither were supposed to be attractive, they more make you turn away. Just thought I'd clarify.

To sum it up, it was funny, worth watching.

Killers

Plot;
Spencer (Ashton Kutcher) Aimes is an assassin, Spencer Aimes WAS an an assassin. In beautiful Nice France, a recently-broken-up Jen (Katherine Heigl) Kornfeldt met the man she would soon marry, Spencer. It was love at first sight, that day was Spencer's last day on the job. They were married, lived normal life's, but this would only last so long. After three years Spencer's past caught up with him. Every one turned against them, every where, all their friends where trying to kill them. Through a series of wild events, Jen finds out her father MR.(Tom Selleck) Kornfeldt is some secret agent and was the one trying to kill her husband, because he thought that he was trying to kill him and that her husband was an assassin. With a stand off between Spencer and Mr.Kornfeldt, Jen gets fed up, and has a little sit down with her Mom Mrs. (Catherine O'Hara) Kornfeldt, Dad, and Husband about no secrets, and no trying to kill each other.

My review;
It was pretty average action wise, there wasn't a whole lot of blood, it didn't really show many "dead" people but it was implied that they had been killed. It was an okay movie, I'd recommend renting it, there wasn't a whole lot of nudity or language. Being a 4-H kid I did love that Spencer (Kutcher) said that he learned to shoot in 4-H. I didn't think it was anything new or fantastic, but I did enjoy to watch it, it was funny. I will add that it did have a few unexpected twists, that were good.

To sum it up, watch it, it's fun.

The Goonies

Plot;
After finding out that their parents where loosing their house, and a golf course was going to be built on top of their town, Mikey (Sean Astin) Walsh thinks that there has to be something they can do. So while on a venture up to their attic Mikey, all his friends, and his brother Bran (Josh Brolin) Walsh find a map that says it leads to treasure. So it's decided they would all go on a treasure hunt, well almost decided, Bran didn't like that idea. Mikey then thought it best to just tie Bran up so his friends and him could find this treasure and save their whole town. Off set Mikey, Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Mouth (Corey Feldman), Data (Jonathan Ke Quan), and Sloth (John Matuszak) and on the hunt they ran into the Fratelli family who were know robbers. After Bran and two girls Andy (Kerri Green) and Stef (Martha Plimpton) finds them they join in the search because now with the Fratelli's after them, they have no choice but to run. The find their way through the tunnel and through a series of wacky events, finally make it to the treasure, only to find that the Fratelli's had followed them. But eventually, they get the money and save their town.

My Review;
Until yesterday I hadn't watched The Goonies in probably five years. It is such a fun movie, though I didn't remember the kids cussing so much. It is such a creative movie. The whole journey on the way to the treasure was awesome, the person who thought up that part of the movie was great. Also I would definitely want to have a friend like Data, so cool! I liked it, I didn't love it. It was a really good movie, but for me it just didn't get to that greatness. There was no huge moment of suspense, not that every movie should have that, or that movies should stick to the formula, as most sadly do, it's just that it wasn't phenomenal.

To sum it up, It was okay, not a must see.

Sixteen Candles

Plot;
Samantha (Molly Ringwald) is having an awful day, on top of all the craziness of her older sister getting married, her whole family forgot her birthday! Her day continues to be terrible until she is noticed by her crush Jake (Michael Schoeffling) Ryan. After missing each other so many times, they finally meet, and they fall in love.

My Review;
It was honestly not that great, yes I loved some of the things that come from any eighties movie, the filming, the clothing, but this movie doesn't deserve to be in the classic eighties movie category. The plot was silly, it was really choppy, even for a movie of that time. And for parents who are like "oh, I want to give my kids some pop culture from my time", I wouldn't recommend this, particularly because of the language and sexual content. So much in fact, that the PG rating was disputed as to weather it should be R (There was no PG13 at the time). I wish I could say I liked it more, but I can't because I didn't, it wasn't that great.

To sum it up, I wouldn't really recommend it.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Plot;
This is the story about the wonderfully adventurous Ferris (Matthew Broderick) Bueller who decides it's to beautiful a day to go to school. So he fakes sick, and along with his not-so-adventurous friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) Frye and his girl friend Sloane (Mia Sara) Peterson they have a great day off school. With a suspicious sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey), and principal Ed (Jeffrey Jones) Rooney who knows that Ferris is not sick, but trying to prove it, now that's that challenge. It gets around town that Ferris is sick, the story continues to get bigger and bigger, the whole town sends their wished for health. All the while Ferris and his friends have the time of their life. Maybe there is such a thing as the perfect get away.

My Review;
This is one of the movies on my "Ultimate Movie List". This is a movie that could never be remade, there could never be a movie to match it, it is a classic. It's like the Godfather, it tells you how to deal with everything. You put allot of miles on your parents car? "Drive it home backwards". I mean, most every one can relate with Ferris Bueller in some way. It was made in 1986 so 'PG' meant something a little different then it does now. There was not a whole lot of language, nudity, or drug/alcohol references, though if it was reviewed again and re-rated, it would probably be "PG13", just because for the most part it's only little kid movies that are PG anymore. But I would recommend it to most any one. Probably not too little of kids, but it's great. It has the rebellious side of skipping school, but the so very intelligent side of getting away with it.

To sum it up, it IS one of the GREATEST movies of all time.

How To Train Your Dragon

Plot;
In a Viking village filled with tough fierce warriors there was the most great of all the leader of the village Stoick (Gerard Butler), and then their was his son Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who was not so strong, and not so fierce. After so many failed attempts of killing a dragon, once he actually did no one believed him. He searched all through the forest until finally he came upon it, it was dark as night, he started to kill it, but he couldn't, so he set it free. It tried to fly but it could not, it was hurt. Hiccup couldn't just leave it to die in this valley in the mountains, so he started feeding it, then he thought maybe he could fix the dragons tail, so he did just that. Then he thought maybe he could ride it, but it didn't work because he just fell off the dragon. So he made a saddle for the dragon. He made a steering mechanism. Then one day Hiccup was in trouble, so his dragon came and saved him, but his dragon was captured by his village. And his father, the leader, found out that Hiccup's dragon knew the way to the dragon's nest. The whole village hated dragons because they would steal the villagers food, but Hiccup had found out that the dragon's only stole food because they had to to feed the great-dragon. Then the villagers followed Hiccup's dragon to the dragon nest, and there was a great battle. In the mean time, Hiccup taught all the other kids in the village how to fly dragons, and they flew out to try and stop the others from releasing the great-dragon, but it was too late! So Hiccup got aboard his dragon, and he fought the great-dragon, and won though he almost lost his life, and he did lose his leg. The villagers saw how good the dragons were, and all learned to ride them, and finally the Dragons and Vikings were at peace.

My Review;
It was good I liked it, I would watch it again. It was funny, and it had some drama, but it wasn't like so many cartoons that try to have all this drama in it and it just makes it not funny. It was good, I'd recommend it to really any one who likes cartoons. It was good.

To sum it up,if you like cartoons watch it.

The Other Guys.

Plot;
Terry (Wahlberg) and Allen (Ferrell) are NYC Police partners, Allen works in the office and is happy, Terry also works in the office but is not. Terry wants to be out there solving cases. One day when two office hot-shots Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Danson (Dwayne Johnson)were chasing bank robbers, they jumped off a building and fell to there death. With this team gone, who will step up to take their place? This starts a sort of a competition between two of the teams in the office Terry and Allen VS. Fosse (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Martin (Rob Riggle), to find a big break. Allen and Terry find that a simple case of forgetting to file for scaffolding permits, is connected to a bigger scheme of embezzlement and fraud.

My Review;
What a team? Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Two great actors, one a comedy star and the other an action guy. There was a great mix of action and comedy, and an awesome line up of supporting actors Steve Coogan, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton. Though hilarious, I will say that the rating is accurate, I don't often agree with what the 'MPAA' rates movies, but it is a PG13 movie. The definition of PG13 by the MPAA is "Parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers." But I know each person knows what PG13 means to them or their family... Any who, director Adam McKay, does a great job with making the movie flow. It's quite unpredictable, which is good for a movie because you don't want a movies you know every thing that is going to happen, what fun is that? Though one thing I think the could have done without is,the picture slide show, it was a little boring, I must say. But...

To sum it up, it was entertaining and very well acted.

Plot:
Tim (Rudd) is an executive trying to get ahead in the work place. One day his boss decides to give him a chance. All Tim has to do to make it to the next floor up is find an 'idiot' to bring to dinner so that he, and all the other executives can make fun of the 'guests' behind their backs. Once Tim got home and told his girlfriend, she was very angry, so he promised her he would not attend. As Tim is driving he hits a man, this is Barry (Carell), Barry makes taxidermy mouse scene boxes. After a few moments of talking Tim knew he had found his "idiot". The only problem at the time was Barry remembered the date wrong, and showed up to Tim's house the very next day. There's a long list of things that occur while Barry is visiting. After all this Barry finds out that Tim really doesn't like him. Feeling bad for how he treated Barry he goes to the dinner to tell his boss that Barry’s not coming, but Barry is already there. After being made somewhat of a fool, by Barry’s boss Therman (Zach Galifianakis) who was also a ‘Schmuck’, at the dinner. Tim takes Barry out side and tells him that this competition for ‘Talented People’ is really a dinner for idiots, and first prize goes to the biggest one, and Therman would probably win. The thing is that Barry knew that Therman would hold winning over his head. So Barry decides to win this award. Julie had took Tim back. They Got married and lived happily ever after.

My Review:
Let me start off by saying it had it's funny moments, and the acting, though they were acting like idiots, was for the most part good. But I was disappointed. Steve Carell in my opinion is a very funny man, but for the most part I just couldn't get into his character, Barry was just so oblivious.
I honestly would not pay 10 Dollars to watch it in theatres again, I predicted more than half the movie and the other half was so uninteresting I didn't care. I had more fun and laughs watching the previews before the movie started. Unless you are dying to see an utterly boring, annoyingly crude movie I wouldn't recommend renting it. They could have taken out the whole side plot about the painter and about the stalker, and I think it would have been a better movie for it.

To sum it up, I was and am disappointed.
