Easy A

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13 for, "Mature thematic elements involving teen sexuality, language and some drug material."
Staring; Emma Stone and Penn Badgley.
Released; 17Th of September, 2010.
Genre; Comedy, Romance.

Plot;
Olive (Emma Stone) didn't want to go with her friend Rhiannon (Alyson Michalka) and her hippie parents camping so she made up the excuse of having a date. When they returned to school Monday Rhiannon quizzed her about her date, and finally came to the conclusion that she must have slept with her date, and lost her virginity, not wanting to tell her friend that really she just didn't want to go camping and none of that happened, she let her friend believe what she wanted. Marianne (Amanda Bynes)overheard and spread the rumor. Olive was then approached by her friend Brandon (Dan Byrd) who was being made fun of because he was homosexual, so he asked Olive if she would pretend to sleep with him so that people would think he was straight. So at a party they went into another room and pretended to be drunk, and leave every one to speculation. This started a whole line up of people who want to be thought of better, asking to have pretended to do different things with Olive, in return she was given gifts. She was branded with some harsh labels, so she thought she would try and live up to them, at least on the out side. She found out many things she didn't want to know, and was blamed for things she didn't do. Through all this there was one person who never believed her, not even for a minute, it was her first almost-kiss Woodchuck (Penn Badgley) Todd. After so much had happened she couldn't take it any longer, it was time for her to tell the truth, since no one else would. She opened a live web cast, and told her whole story, start to finish.

My Review;
Honestly I wasn't a fan. It had it's funny moments, but not enough to get past all the rest of the boring parts. I liked the parts with Olive and Woodchuck Todd, and how she got people to watch her web cast, but that's about it. It was to much like just another teen movie. I really was just bored, I thought the people who edited the scenes didn't do the best of job. There were so many times when a scene should have been longer or shorter, and that goes allot to how people like it, they needed to do a better job of keeping people's attention. And the song "I gotta a pocket full of sunshine..." really does get stuck in your head, I did enjoy how that singing card scene was put together.

To sum it up, I just didn't like it.

The Other Boleyn Girl

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating: PG-13 for, "mature thematic elements, sexual content and some violent images"
Staring: Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson.
Released: 29Th of February, 2008.
Genre: Biography, Drama, Romance, History.

Plot:
As most already know the story I will keep this brief. This is the story of the other Boleyn girl, the sister of Mary Boleyn who married King Henry VIII. This is about a sisters betrayal, as you probably already know. This is the true story of Anne and Mary Boleyn and King Henry VIII.

My Review:
It was alright, as most historical movies there are inconsistencies with what actually happened, but they are basically true. I was fond of the costumes, quality of cinematography, though I wasn't very happy with how the story was written for the film. I thought Natalie Portman and Eric Bana were cast well, though I thought that Scarlet Johansson wasn't the best choice for Mary Boleyn. As I said it was alright, but not great. Certainly not in top movie list.

To sum it up, it was okay.

The Box

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13 for, "Thematic elements, some violence and disturbing images."
Staring; James Marsden and Cameron Diaz.
Released; 6Th of November, 2009.
Genre;Drama, Sci-Fi, Thriller, Mystery.

Plot;
One morning Arthur (James Marsden) Lewis and his wife Norma (Cameron Diaz) Lewis received a box, with this box came a set of instructions that a man named Arlington (Frank Langella) Steward would come and give them an offer. Mr. Stewart comes and tells them that if they open the box and press the button that they will receive one million dollars, that they could sure use, but if they press the button some one, who they don't know, will die. He gave them 24 hours, and just before he arrived Norma pressed the button. Some one died. After they pressed the button they felt that killing someone was not the bast way to get a million dollars, so they attempted to find out about this Mr.Stewart, but first he found out about them. He told them to stop digging, or else. They didn't stop, a series of interesting events unfolded and it came to this, he took their son, they had a decision to make. Mr.Stewart had made their son def and blind, they had two options, the first that they could keep the million dollars and try and live their life with a def and blind son, or Arthur could kill his wife and their son would return to normal. They talked, and chose the latter. He son was returned to health, and he was taken away by the police, and Mr. Stewart told him that they would be taken care of. And the offer was given to the next person, a person they don't know.

My Review;
I would first like to apologize for what the length of this review will be. You see, I have a very strong opinion about this and let me tell you why, but before I do let me say a few, more technical, things. The filming was beautiful, the timing and the lighting, at moments I wish I could give the cinematographers a high five. Also I think Richard Kelley did a good job as director on the film as a whole. The acting was good, all very convincing characters, but the making or quality of the movie itself isn't where I have the problem. It is the inside of the movie, it is the hidden messages and it's the mistakes that I think were made.
I believe that Mr.Stewart was possessed, I think that when he was struck by lightning an alien entered into his mind and/or body, and that it had to do with the research they were doing in trying to find life on Mars. I think that the box was a test, the aliens were seeing if earth was worth it, if the people of earth were good enough to keep or if the evil had overcome to much and it should be destroyed, I believe what I have said was strongly hinted at in the movie. I also believe that it's not the pressing of the button that makes the last person kill, but rather when some one chooses to kill, the other couple was forced to press the button. The choices were passed on to the next family. I think that no one has been smart enough yet to not kill to help their child, to stop the cycle. One thing that I think is funny is that Arthur and Norma's son isn't even dead, he's just def and blind, has no one heard of Helen Keller, she did amazing things.
I think that if Arthur had not shot Norma that maybe the next couple would never have pressed the button, and maybe their son would have even been returned to health, because the aliens would see that they are worthy, that humans are moral and loving. But I think that because he did chose to go the way of situational ethics and shoot his wife, that he just brought the whole earth one step closer to destruction. I think that maybe even the whole chain could have been reversed, and all those people who made the wrong decisions would be returned to how they were before, maybe they wouldn't remember a thing, or maybe it would be like a dream. But he did kill his wife.
Through out the film I kept hoping it would change and the right thing would happen, but as the end got closer and closer it seemed more and more like the movie that I had waited quite some time to watch, was going to be a movie I hated. I went into the movie excited and left it angry.

To sum it up, it was an awful movie.

Charlie St.Cloud

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

He had bold plans for the future, but everything is stopped when Charlie and his little brother get into an car accident, that killed Sam. Charlie quit sailing, put his boat away and never took it out. He lived near the Forrest along the beach, and worked at the cemetery. It had been a few years and Charlie still went out every night and played baseball with his brother, until he saw a girl he had once sailed against, she was now preparing to sail in a very long competition, her and Charlie fell in love. They had wonderful times together, until Tess (Amanda Crew) Carroll was reported missing, and Charlie found that he had been in love with a ghost, he just didn't know. But somehow, though every one thought Tess had died he knew she wasn't he knew where she was headed, he took off sailing after her, he missed a game with his brother, but it was time, his brother knew that. once Charlie found the ship he jumped in after her, he finally found her body washed up on some rocks, he lied next to her he held her to try and keep her from dying, search crews found them at the edge of their life's, but they were saved. After they got out of the hospital, Charlie and Tess talked, Tess said she had dreamed of Charlie, they did things together and she was scared of him because the dreams were so vivid, like it all really happened. Charlie told her it wasn't a dream he proved it to her. She asked Charlie if he would go with her, if he would sail on her race with her, he said yes.

My Review;
So, I loved this movie. It was filled with beautiful scenery, and wonderful shots. I think Zac Efron really showed a set of skills we haven't seen before. It made my "Ultimate Movie List", it was great. And it was honestly pretty clean, it had a few sexual references, a little bit of language. It had some really intense parts, I wouldn't recommend for people who have trouble with death, near death, and strong emotion. Some of the moments were really unexpected and I loved them. You could call it a 'tear jerker', but it was great.

To sum it up, go watch it.

Grown Ups

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13 for, "Crude material including suggestive references, language and some male rear nudity."
Staring; Adam Sandler and Kevin James.
Released; 25Th of June, 2010.
Genre; Comedy.

Plot;
This is the story of a group of men who were once part of a champion basketball team, they all return to their home town for the funeral of the coach that took them there, their 8Th grade coach Bobby 'Buzzer'(Blake Clark)Ferdinando. After so much time apart with Lenny(Adam Sandler)Feder becoming a publicist, Kurt (Chris Rock) McKenzie a stay-at-home dad, Rob (Rod Schnider) Hilliard married an lady old enough to be his mom, Eric (Kevin James) Lamonsoff recently getting layed off, and last Marcus (David Spade) Higgins who is still a bachelor. First this was just about paying respects, but it became so much more. It became showing all their kids that video games and gadgets are not a childhood, it's about taking risks and getting dirty.

My Review;
It was funny, it certainly had it's awkward moments though. It's what you can expect from most Adam Sandler movies, they wont make your list of most inspirational or best picture, but they will make you laugh out loud and possibly make that list. It was entertaining. I would watch it again maybe with a group of friends, because it's often more fun to laugh with friends. It's rated PG13 so keep that in mind when you're going out to rent it. And in the rating description where it says "Male rear nudity", it happens twice, the first was a (Old) man after going down a really fast water slide, and the second was David Spade, getting up in the morning. Neither were supposed to be attractive, they more make you turn away. Just thought I'd clarify.

To sum it up, it was funny, worth watching.

The Last Song

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG for, "Thematic material, some violence, sensuality and mild language."
Staring; Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth.
Released; 31st of March, 2010.
Genre;Drama, Romance.

Plot;
Veronica 'Ronnie' (Miley Cyrus) Miller and her little brother Jonah (Bobby Coleman) go to visit their father Steve (Greg Kinnear), for the summer, who lives on the coast of Georgia. Ronnie soon meets a boy named Will (Liam Hemsworth) Blakelee, they fall in love. But things go bad when they find out not only is Ronnie's dad sick, and will soon pass, but also the church that, it was though, Steve accidentally burnt down wasn't actually his fault, and Will knew who's fault it was. Though the issue of the burn church was figured out, Ronnie was too upset that Will didn't say who it was until so long later, she didn't even want to forgive him. Though he knew she was mad at him, he when to her fathers funeral. Ronnie played a song for her dad at the funeral, she hadn't played the piano, but once, since her parents were divorced. After the funeral she went back to her father's house and was packing up his things when she saw Will waiting on the beach, she walked out to see him. She wasn't expecting this she had assumed he had already gone away to college, she was wrong he loved her so much, he had to see her again. He said he was thinking about transferring to another school he was accepted to in New York, down the road to where she would be going, Julliard, Ronnie was so excited.

My Review;
Okay so in case you hadn't guessed by the commercials this was a typical love story. Two young people fall in love, there's a beach, someone dies, there's a fight. But though it wasn't anything great and new, I liked it, it was entertaining. It was worth the rental cost. It had some emotion I didn't think Miley Cyrus was capable of, I thought her performance was good. Through out most of the movie it kind of seemed that they called it the last song because it was the thing that came to their head, but you figure it out. I thought it was good, it can be somewhat of a tearjerker movie, but not to much.

To sum it up, it was good.

Killers

With a stand off between Spencer and Mr.Kornfeldt, Jen gets fed up, and has a little sit down with her Mom Mrs. (Catherine O'Hara) Kornfeldt, Dad, and Husband about no secrets, and no trying to kill each other.

My review;
It was pretty average action wise, there wasn't a whole lot of blood, it didn't really show many "dead" people but it was implied that they had been killed. It was an okay movie, I'd recommend renting it, there wasn't a whole lot of nudity or language. Being a 4-H kid I did love that Spencer (Kutcher) said that he learned to shoot in 4-H. I didn't think it was anything new or fantastic, but I did enjoy to watch it, it was funny. I will add that it did have a few unexpected twists, that were good.

To sum it up, watch it, it's fun.

Off set Mikey, Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Mouth (Corey Feldman), Data (Jonathan Ke Quan), and Sloth (John Matuszak) and on the hunt they ran into the Fratelli family who were know robbers. The find their way through the tunnel and through a series of wacky events, finally make it to the treasure, only to find that the Fratelli's had followed them. But eventually, they get the money and save their town.

My Review;
Until yesterday I hadn't watched The Goonies in probably five years. It is such a fun movie, though I didn't remember the kids cussing so much. It is such a creative movie. The whole journey on the way to the treasure was awesome, the person who thought up that part of the movie was great. Also I would definitely want to have a friend like Data, so cool! I liked it, I didn't love it. It was a really good movie, but for me it just didn't get to that greatness. There was no huge moment of suspense, not that every movie should have that, or that movies should stick to the formula, as most sadly do, it's just that it wasn't phenomenal.

To sum it up, It was okay, not a must see.

Sixteen Candles

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG.
Staring; Molly Ringwald and Michael Schoeffling.
Released; 4Th of May, 1984.
Genre; Comedy, Romance.

Plot;
Samantha (Molly Ringwald) is having an awful day, on top of all the craziness of her older sister getting married, her whole family forgot her birthday! Her day continues to be terrible until she is noticed by her crush Jake (Michael Schoeffling) Ryan. After missing each other so many times, they finally meet, and they fall in love.

My Review;
It was honestly not that great, yes I loved some of the things that come from any eighties movie, the filming, the clothing, but this movie doesn't deserve to be in the classic eighties movie category. The plot was silly, it was really choppy, even for a movie of that time. And for parents who are like "oh, I want to give my kids some pop culture from my time", I wouldn't recommend this, particularly because of the language and sexual content. So much in fact, that the PG rating was disputed as to weather it should be R (There was no PG13 at the time). I wish I could say I liked it more, but I can't because I didn't, it wasn't that great.

To sum it up, I wouldn't really recommend it.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG
Staring; Matthew Broderick , and Alan Ruck.
Released; 11Th of June, 1986
Genre; Comedy, Drama.

Plot;
This is the story about the wonderfully adventurous Ferris (Matthew Broderick) Bueller who decides it's to beautiful a day to go to school. So he fakes sick, and along with his not-so-adventurous friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) Frye and his girl friend Sloane (Mia Sara) Peterson they have a great day off school. With a suspicious sister Jeanie (Jennifer Grey), and principal Ed (Jeffrey Jones) Rooney who knows that Ferris is not sick, but trying to prove it, now that's that challenge. It gets around town that Ferris is sick, the story continues to get bigger and bigger, the whole town sends their wished for health. All the while Ferris and his friends have the time of their life. Maybe there is such a thing as the perfect get away.

My Review;
This is one of the movies on my "Ultimate Movie List". This is a movie that could never be remade, there could never be a movie to match it, it is a classic. It's like the Godfather, it tells you how to deal with everything. You put allot of miles on your parents car? "Drive it home backwards". I mean, most every one can relate with Ferris Bueller in some way. It was made in 1986 so 'PG' meant something a little different then it does now. There was not a whole lot of language, nudity, or drug/alcohol references, though if it was reviewed again and re-rated, it would probably be "PG13", just because for the most part it's only little kid movies that are PG anymore. But I would recommend it to most any one. Probably not too little of kids, but it's great. It has the rebellious side of skipping school, but the so very intelligent side of getting away with it.

To sum it up, it IS one of the GREATEST movies of all time.

Footloose

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG.
Staring; Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer.
Released; 17Th of February, 1984
Genre; Drama, Music, Romance.

Plot;
Ren (Kevin Bacon) McCormack moves to a small town, from the big city and is finding he's not exactly welcomed with open arms. He also soon found that music and dancing was against the law, though many teens including the daughter of one of the biggest supporters of this law, Ariel (Lori Singer) Moore, wish that they could just dance. Along with trying to work out life being new in town, and find himself in some trouble, Ren decides something has to be done about this law. After some reluctance he got the support of some other kids and they petitioned the town council to let them have a dance. After the proposal was turned down they felt like there was nothing they could do, until some one told them that technically over the train tracks was out of town jurisdiction, so they got permission to use a barn right across the tracks. Ren asked Ariel's dad if he could take her to the dance, and to somewhat of a surprise he said yes, because he kept an open mind and had a little change of heart. So they had their dance.

My Review;
I love it. Not only do I think it had a good story, but it was really one of a kind in 1984. It was one of the first big "Modern Musicals", the actors weren't singing, but every song that played in the back ground was chosen not only for the beat, but also for the lyrics, every song was chosen specifically for every scene and some even written special for that scene of the movie. Footloose also was about something that really happened, though the story was fictional, it was true that there were towns where rock music and dancing were against the law in city limits. I see how people could say that dancing can lead to some immoral acts, I suppose, but I do not believe that is the governments right to control dancing or music. I also thought a cool thing about the movie was that it started as a movie, it wasn't a book or a play, it was first a movie. There is quite a bit of language, and some sexual references, but no nudity.

To sum it up, if you get the chance, watch it.

Saturday Night Fever

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; R for, "strong language, sexuality/nudity and some drug content."
Staring; John Travolta and Karen Lynn Gorney
Released; 16TH of December, 1977.
Genre; Drama, Music, Romance.

Plot;
Tony (John Travolta) Manero dances the nights away in local the disco, a way to finally feel like he's doing something. Tony is always out because he has some issues with his family, his brother who his parents think is perfect until he decides to quit being a priest, his father who's been out of work and is aggravated about it, and his stressed mother. One day at a disco Tony sees a woman, Stephanie (Karen Lynn Gorney), who catches his eye as an amazing dancer. He asks her to join him in a dance competition. They won first, but Tony knew it was rigged. He gave up the winnings because he knew it wasn't fair. After the competition Tony and his friends when out to the bridge, Bobby (Barry Miller) was hanging from some of the cables, and walking on dangerous places, Tony tried to get him to come down, but before he could get Bobby to come down Bobby fell to his death. After that Tony left all his friends that weren't nice, then he went to Manhattan to find Stephanie, and he said he was never going back to Brooklyn, and they agreed to be friends, just friends.

My Review;
If you like 70's music, is I must admit I do, you would probably like to buy the sound track. The dancing was Napoleon dynamite status, maybe a little more sophisticated, but not a whole lot. The rating was surely true. It had quite a bit of language, you could even say allot. I thought the story was kind of lame, the characters were quite boring. It just wasn't interesting. I wouldn't recommend it, honestly not at all. I seriously think that the language truly takes away from the content, it's lite the writers weren't smart enough to get a thesaurus and find some more intelegent word. I mean honestly they souknded pretty rediculous.

To sum it up, don't get it, it's awful.

How To Train Your Dragon

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

He searched all through the forest until finally he came upon it, it was dark as night, he started to kill it, but he couldn't, so he set it free. It tried to fly but it could not, it was hurt. Hiccup couldn't just leave it to die in this valley in the mountains, so he started feeding it, then he thought maybe he could fix the dragons tail, so he did just that. Then he thought maybe he could ride it, but it didn't work because he just fell off the dragon. So he made a saddle for the dragon. He made a steering mechanism. Then one day Hiccup was in trouble, so his dragon came and saved him, but his dragon was captured by his village. And his father, the leader, found out that Hiccup's dragon knew the way to the dragon's nest. The whole village hated dragons because they would steal the villagers food, but Hiccup had found out that the dragon's only stole food because they had to to feed the great-dragon. Then the villagers followed Hiccup's dragon to the dragon nest, and there was a great battle. In the mean time, Hiccup taught all the other kids in the village how to fly dragons, and they flew out to try and stop the others from releasing the great-dragon, but it was too late! So Hiccup got aboard his dragon, and he fought the great-dragon, and won though he almost lost his life, and he did lose his leg. The villagers saw how good the dragons were, and all learned to ride them, and finally the Dragons and Vikings were at peace.

My Review;
It was good I liked it, I would watch it again. It was funny, and it had some drama, but it wasn't like so many cartoons that try to have all this drama in it and it just makes it not funny. It was good, I'd recommend it to really any one who likes cartoons. It was good.

To sum it up,if you like cartoons watch it.

After being beaten numerous times by Cheng and his gang, Dre ask the handy man, who saved him from Chengs gang once, if he would train him. He was seriously injured in one battle, but persevered, and ended up winning. Chen saw how good Dre was, and what a great teacher Mr.Han was, so him and his gang made peace.

My Review;
Let me start off by saying, it is SO much better then the original 1984 Karate Kid. It had a very well written script, the actors were awesome. Jaden Smith is going to be a great actor someday, he's only 12 and he's already really good! And who doesn't love Jackie Chan. It had a great feel of traditional Martial Arts, but the new feel of a story people can relate to now.I thought it was really good. I may not watch it 100 times, but if it was on I'd watch it again, I would even rent it again. It was great, it's good for the whole family. I thought it was very well made.

To sum it up, watch it with your family or by yourself.

Pollard) Moss, he was just a kid, bu he was a great driver. Not to long after becoming a trio they added two more to their robbing team Clyde's brother Buck (Gene Hackman) Barrow, and his wife Blanche (Estelle Parsons). It seemed that just as the team would settle down for a nice Holiday, the police would find them, and every time they police got closer and closer to catching them, but they were always a step ahead. Always until, there was a great shootout, that is. It wounded It wounded Bonnie, Clyde and Blanch, also taking Blanche captive, and it killed Buck. Bonnie, Clyde, and C.W just barely escaped. They headed to C.W's house because that was the only place that they didn't think the police would find them, because no one had found out the identity of C.W yet. The thing the didn't take into account was that the police had already captured Blanche, and she gave away every thing. The police set up a trap, with the help of C.W.'s father, who wasn't into the idea of bank robbers living in his house. One day he convinced his son to stay in town when Bonnie and Clyde came home, he ignorantly did so. On the way home Bonnie and Clyde stopped to help C.W.'s dad fix a flat tire, when they were gunned down.

My Review;
Great Movie. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were beautiful together. Though the MPAA gave this an 'R' rating, and I would give it at MOST PG13. There is some suggestive conversation and some nudity, and the 'Violence' is more intense or dramatic then blood and guts, after all it's 1967. I believe it truly gives you a feel for how Bonnie and Clyde were. I love the cinematography, it's just a beautiful movie. When watching it you almost don't want them to get caught, you want them to live happily ever after, but you know they wont. Because every one knows the story of Bonnie and Clyde, how they got ambushed and shot to death, just like Sonny Corleone. This honestly is one of my all time favourites.

To sum it up, it's a beautiful crime not to watch this, go rent it.

Rescue Dawn

Rating; PG-13 for, "some sequences of intense war violence and torture."
Staring; Christian Bale and Steve Zahn.
Released; 25Th of December, 1993.
Genre; Action, Adventure, Biography, Drama, War

Plot;
Laos, Vietnam, A pilots first mission. Lt. Dieter (Bale) Dengler, was flying over Laos when his plane was shot down. After a while of running he was found drinking from a stream. He was tortured and taken to a camp where he was held along with 5 other prisoners, 2 of them American. He quickly devised a plot to escape. After plotting and planning they were ready, they broke free on July 3rd. They met up after the break, by that time there was only 4 of them. They split up Duane (Steve Zahn) went with Dengler, it is unknown what happened to the other two who split from them. Duane and Dengler traveled for days trying to get to safety. They traveled through harsh Teriann, awful weather, and suffered numerous injuries. After so long they came upon a village where, to put it in a way, Dengler escaped by inches and he was now alone. At last some one had found him, some one who would take him home. He was picked up by helicopters and taken to a hospital to recover. Also he was confined until he could be debriefed, because his mission was top-secret. Some friends from his out-fit heard of his rescue, and came to visit. They were anxious to get him back to the ship to have a proper welcome, so they snuck him out of the hospital, and brought him home.

My Review;
It was good. I had only heard about this movie from others reviews until recently when I bought it. I must say, it was worth buying without first watching. The story was so inspiring and it was, in fact, a true story. Dieter Dengler never gave up, he never quit trying to get home. Though he never got some secret information that ended the war of anything, he was a true hero, he was the story of a great American. He was a story of endurance, of faith, of strength. This movie was great. I think it really shows just how much our soldiers go through to keep us safe at home.

To sum it up, I liked it, it is a great historical film. I recommend it.

Robin Hood

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13 for, "violence including intense sequences of warfare, and some sexual content."
Staring; Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett
Released; 14Th of May, 2010.
Genre; Action, Adventure, Drama.

Plot;
As most already know the story of Robin Hood, I will keep the plot short. Robin (Russell Crowe) Longstride was in battle when King Richard (Danny Huston)the Lion Heart was killed, him and a few of his fellow soldiers left, and later came upon a few who had been ambushed, these few were the men who were chosen to carry home the crown to London. Robin and his friends took the place of the men chosen to carry the crown, thinking it as a ticket home. Robin also promised that he would return the sword of one of the men, Sir Robert (Douglase Hodge) Loxley, to his father Sir Walter (Max von Sydow) Loxley. When he arrived he found out the troubles that the town was having and Sir Walter, asked if he would stand as Walters returning son, as Marion (Cate Blanchett) Loxley's husband. He agreed. The fought the corrupt and won the battle of France Vs. England. But at was not all great and merry after the triumph. King (Oscar Isaac) John was jealous of peoples love for Robin, and so declared him an outlaw.

My Review;
Let me start off by saying, who didn't like Friar Tuck played by Mark Addy? He was great. The cast of this movie was awesome, and with a writer like Brian Helgland, and Ridley Scott directing you're asking for some pretty great action. But the line-up shouldn't make the movie, and believe me it doesn't, Robin Hood has more than just some great people, it had good writing, perfect timing, great pace, wonderful cinematography, it was truly a joy to watch. There were only a few scenes of nudity, and virtually no language. I loved it. I think if you're thinking about weather to watch the theatrical version or directors cut? I would go with Directors Cut, it really gives you more insight, and I feel like you really get more out of it if you don't miss those scenes.

To sum it up, if you like action awesomeness rent it, it's worth it.

Tombstone

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; R for, "violence."
Staring; Kurt Russell, and Val Kilmer.
Released; 25Th of December, 1993.
Genre; Action, Drama, History, Romance, Western.

Plot;
This is the story of how Wyatt (Russell) Earp, along with his brothers and friend Doc (Kilmer) Holliday take Tombstone from the grasps of it's tormentors "The Cowboys". Earp moved to Tombstone in hopes of finding peace and retirement from his law-man/ gun slinger days. Little did he know, just how big his reputation was, no matter where he went every one knew him. With no one else to take charge Wyatt, his brothers, and his friends fought the history making battle of Tombstone.

My Review;
I must say this is Val Kilmer at his best, he was a great choice to play Doc Holliday. Like most Historically based movies, you have to leave some room for inaccuracies, but there were a few too many for my taste - as a lover of History. But it did have good action, interesting plot, and it's funny moments. To me it seemed like it was 200 minuets, though in reality it was only 130. To me it wasn't the greatest, I was bored watching it. Though I did like the scenes with Holliday, I think he was truly given some of the best lines. To me it seemed like any other modern western with a famous name. I think they rely to much on "Tombstone" and "The OK-Corral". I think if the inaccuracies don't bother you to much, it's an alright movie. Not my favourite, but alright.

To sum it up, it's okay, if you like westerns - watch it.

Remember Me

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13 for, "violence, sexual content, language and smoking."
Staring; Robert Pattinson, and Emilie de Ravin.
Released; 12Th of March, 2010.
Genre; Drama, Romance.

Plot;
The year 2000, no one knew just what was ahead. Tyler (Pattinson) Hawkins is 21, though he has his shares of family troubles, be doesn't let his parents divorce or his brothers death stop him from living. He's alive and living, but he's not really sure what he's living for, until his friend Aidan (Tate Ellington)convinces him to talk to this girl at school, Ally (de Ravin), who he soon falls in love with. But he is still dealing with his family issues, and hers too! Their journey is one of trials, but they always find a way through it, because they have each other. And some how they find a way to pull their families together. Every thing was great, at last Tyler's younger sister Caroline (Ruby Jerins), was feeling like her dad truly loved her and cared about her. One day as Tyler went to meet his dad at his office, something hit. It was a plane, it was the 11Th of September, 2001. Tyler was in his dad's office, in the worlds trade centre. Tyler didn't survive. But all the great he did for Ally's family and his own continued on.

My Review;
This movie is not only number one on my "Tear Jerker List", but it's also on my ultimate movie list. What a movie, so moving. Robbert Pattinson was phenomenal, he and Emilie de Ravin had great chemistry, and Tate Ellington added a great bit of comedy. Every emotion was so raw, so real. It is truly, in my opinion, one of the best movies I've ever watched. It was so unpredictable, it seemed like it was just going to be another Romantic Drama, but so many things I did not expect happened. The end really pulled you in, I being old enough to remember 9/11 it was especially griping, because I remember that great sorrow that covered our country, and other countries after that awful event. I'd say the movie was a sad one, but though so many tragic things happened, so many great things came from them. I will tell you before you go out and rent it, thinking oh a just a good to cry at film. I would only recommend this to those I believe could really handle the darkness, and sadness of this film. Remember it's rated PG13 for a reason.

To sum it up, if you can handle it, watch it.

Vincent and Theo

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13. (Rating reason, not specified)
Staring; Tim Roth, and Paul Rhys.
Released; 22nd of October, 1990
Genre; Biography, Drama.

Plot;
Theo (Rhys) is always having to look after his older brother Vincent (Roth), who always seems to go crazy just when Theo was starting to get every thing normal again. This is the story of the adult-life and death of famous painter Vincent Van Gogh, and his brothers trials of trying to take care of a not-so-sane older brother. Though he loves his brother Theo, a curator, Vincent can't seem to control how he acts, with his fits of rage and sadness. This ultimately leads to Vincent killing himself, and Theo dying not even a year after.

My Review;
I love Biographies, knowing that some one out there at some time lived what you just saw. It's not emotions that are made up, theses things really happened. Though I love them, there is a part of me that hates biographies, because you know that when some one takes their life, like Vincent Van Gogh did, it really happened. You can't watch the alternate ending on the special features DVD, because there was no alternate ending, that's what really happened. The movie had some language, but what you would expect from a Mentally-Ill, Erratic painter. It also had some nudity, though if you watch it on television most of it is edited out. This movie's kind of hard to put your finger on. I think that Tim Roth was wonderful as Vincent, it was like you were looking back in time, through a window in the clouds. It was truly a great performance.

To Sum it up, it was interesting and a little disturbing.

Avatar

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13, for "Intense epic battle sequences and warfare, sensuality, language and some smoking."
Staring; Sam Worthington, and Zoe Saldana.
Released; 18Th of December, 2009.
Genre; Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Fantasy.

Plot;
The sky people (Humans) invade a moon called Pandora, where the Na'vi people live, so that they can harvest a substance called "unobtainium" that is worth billions back on earth. Along with the people who are just there for the rocks, are people who are there to study and learn about the natives. When one of the scientists who were studying the people dies, they call in his ex-marine brother to take his place because the are related and he can activate his brothers "Avatar". Soon the scientists realise just how corrupt the heads of this operation are, and join forces with the natives to try and save the world that they live on from the destruction of the sky people.

My Review;
First off I'd like to say that the world that was created, Pandora, was very interesting. It had great colour, and the Na'vi people had an interesting past. Though the animation was good, I didn't like the scene when they first meet the great toruk, it seemed very fake in comparison to the rest of the scenes with the bird-like-creatures, it looked like paper mache on a string. And one of the more interesting things was that the amazing substance that was so hard to obtain, was called "unobtainium", I know that "unobtainium" is a true scientific term, but really? They could have come up with something a little more creative. Over all it was alright, but I probably won't watch it again. Personally I got kind of bored watching it. It still had the same typical plot. It was good in a sense of it just being an average movie, made in 8 months, or a year because of all the animation. But because James Cameron has been working on this movie 15 years, I heard, it just doesn't seem that fantastic.

To sum it up, I could give or take it.

To Save A Life

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13, for "Mature thematic elements involving teen suicide, teen drinking, some drug content, disturbing images and sexuality"
Staring; Randy Wayne, and Deja Kreutzberg.
Released; ? ?, 2009
Genre; Drama.

Plot;
Jake (Wayne) and Roger (Robert Bailey Jr.) are best friends. At least they were, until freshman year, when Jake had to chose his best friend or a girl? He chose the girl. Roger was never a popular kid, always made fun of. Jake was the Basketball star, had a pretty girlfriend, Amy (Kreutzberg). One day Roger just couldn't take life any more, he came into school with a gun, he shot in the air, then himself. No one knew that Jake used to be friends with Roger, no one knew what he was going through. Jake started to think it was kind of his fault, if only he had been a friend. Jake decided to turn his life around after receiving help from a local youth pastor. With that he lost allot of his old friends, but gained allot of new ones. Along with the old friends was his girlfriend, she wasn't so sure about the "new" Jake. But once she found out she was pregnant she also found that those old friends, weren't really friends at all, but found acceptance with Jake and this new group of 'Misfits'. Along the way Jake found that there's more to life than he had thought, he found lots of people were hurting, and he could help them.

My Review;
This was truly a life changing movie. This is such a gripping tale of the suffering kids face these days. With suicide rates high, people need to understand what the mocking and outcasting of people does to them. I believe this is a great movie to show that even the little things we do to hurt people, can end up as a big thing that person does to hurt them self's or others. It was very well made, it kept you attention. I would recommend really every one to watch it. Sean Michael Afable gives a great performance, you don't doubt his character for even a moment. It is truly a great movie.

To sum it up, go watch it, you wont regret it.

The Other Guys.

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating; PG-13, for "Crude and sexual content, language, violence and some drug material"
Staring; Will Ferrell, and Mark Wahlberg.
Released; 6th of August, 2010.
Genre; Action, Comedy.

Plot;
Terry (Wahlberg) and Allen (Ferrell) are NYC Police partners, Allen works in the office and is happy, Terry also works in the office but is not. Terry wants to be out there solving cases. One day when two office hot-shots Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) and Danson (Dwayne Johnson)were chasing bank robbers, they jumped off a building and fell to there death. With this team gone, who will step up to take their place? This starts a sort of a competition between two of the teams in the office Terry and Allen VS. Fosse (Damon Wayans Jr.) and Martin (Rob Riggle), to find a big break. Allen and Terry find that a simple case of forgetting to file for scaffolding permits, is connected to a bigger scheme of embezzlement and fraud.

My Review;
What a team? Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Two great actors, one a comedy star and the other an action guy. There was a great mix of action and comedy, and an awesome line up of supporting actors Steve Coogan, Samuel L. Jackson, Dwayne Johnson, Michael Keaton. Though hilarious, I will say that the rating is accurate, I don't often agree with what the 'MPAA' rates movies, but it is a PG13 movie. The definition of PG13 by the MPAA is "Parents are urged to be cautious. Some material may be inappropriate for pre-teenagers." But I know each person knows what PG13 means to them or their family... Any who, director Adam McKay, does a great job with making the movie flow. It's quite unpredictable, which is good for a movie because you don't want a movies you know every thing that is going to happen, what fun is that? Though one thing I think the could have done without is,the picture slide show, it was a little boring, I must say. But...

To sum it up, it was entertaining and very well acted.

Cole.

Dinner for Schmucks.

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating: PG-13, for "Crude and sexual content, some partial nudity and language."
Staring: Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.
Released: 30Th of July, 2010.
Genre: Comedy.

Plot:
Tim (Rudd) is an executive trying to get ahead in the work place. One day his boss decides to give him a chance. All Tim has to do to make it to the next floor up is find an 'idiot' to bring to dinner so that he, and all the other executives can make fun of the 'guests' behind their backs. Once Tim got home and told his girlfriend, she was very angry, so he promised her he would not attend. As Tim is driving he hits a man, this is Barry (Carell), Barry makes taxidermy mouse scene boxes. After a few moments of talking Tim knew he had found his "idiot". The only problem at the time was Barry remembered the date wrong, and showed up to Tim's house the very next day. There's a long list of things that occur while Barry is visiting. After all this Barry finds out that Tim really doesn't like him. Feeling bad for how he treated Barry he goes to the dinner to tell his boss that Barry’s not coming, but Barry is already there. After being made somewhat of a fool, by Barry’s boss Therman (Zach Galifianakis) who was also a ‘Schmuck’, at the dinner. Tim takes Barry out side and tells him that this competition for ‘Talented People’ is really a dinner for idiots, and first prize goes to the biggest one, and Therman would probably win. The thing is that Barry knew that Therman would hold winning over his head. So Barry decides to win this award. Julie had took Tim back. They Got married and lived happily ever after.

My Review:
Let me start off by saying it had it's funny moments, and the acting, though they were acting like idiots, was for the most part good. But I was disappointed. Steve Carell in my opinion is a very funny man, but for the most part I just couldn't get into his character, Barry was just so oblivious.
I honestly would not pay 10 Dollars to watch it in theatres again, I predicted more than half the movie and the other half was so uninteresting I didn't care. I had more fun and laughs watching the previews before the movie started. Unless you are dying to see an utterly boring, annoyingly crude movie I wouldn't recommend renting it. They could have taken out the whole side plot about the painter and about the stalker, and I think it would have been a better movie for it.

To sum it up, I was and am disappointed.

Cole.
