My review,
This movie just really makes me laugh. I can't listen to Queen without thinking of this movie. To put it shortly, it's ridiculous. It's what you'd expect of a 1980 sci-fi movie. I'm not saying go out of your way to watch it... But if it's on, and you can bear it, it's pretty funny. When I say bear it, I say it in mind of not only what the movie is about, but mostly because of the acting, and the outfits, well, really, everything. The movie is funny, in a "You've got to be kidding me?" kind of way. There's no real way of explaining it, a way of putting into words  this movie. I would say, watch it once and never again.

To sum it up, it's pretty funny.

Peter Pan

My Review:
I love this live action adaption of the classic children's story. Peter Pan has always been a favourite of mine when I was growing up. In this one I think they really give you a good picture of just what Peter meant to Never Land, and why he didn't want to grow up. I think the movie had that really magical feeling to it, just like Peter Pan should. Traveling to Never Land should be out of this world, and it wasn't this fantastical Oz or Wonka Chocolate Factory, but that wasn't what it was supposed to be. It was an island filled with fairies and mermaids and pirates. I thought Jeremy was a great choice for Peter, and Rachel Hurd-Wood played a wonderful Wendy. I liked it allot.

To sum it up, it is a great version.

The Matrix

Plot:
A war was struck between AI (Artificial Intelligence) and human kind, AI took it's energy from the sun, so humans decided to block out the sun, but AI found another way to run, it started harvesting humans energy and creating new humans. But to keep them from a rebellion, from escaping their pods, they were not shown the world around them, but rather they were put in the Matrix. The Matrix is stuck hundreds of years in the past, it shows people an alternate reality. But there are few who have escaped the Matrix, there are few who are rebels trying to bring down AI and the Matrix. They search the Matrix for people to extract, people who are exceptional, people who can help them. They finally found one, they found the one. The one who would help them bring down the Matrix.

My Review:
To all the people who told me this was a must see, this was one of the greatest movies ever made, I would like to say that I disagree. I went into this with an open mind and came out of it with a mind made up. I suppose it had some good graphics, some fun action scenes. But so so much of the content I think should have been approached different or removed. Not to mention the countless errors, people moving from scene to scene, reflections not lining up, weapons completely changing in the middle of a sequence. It wasn't awful, but I probably wont watch it again.

To sum it up, it's not a must see.

The A Team

My Review
I know it doesn't say comedy in the "genre" section, but it was really funny, and that's what made the movie. It was good it had some impossible seeming stunts and action shots, but that was almost comical, they made the movie interesting. The acting was good, it was action packed as you would expect. But there was more to it then just the action, it had a little but of drama, some romance, and as I said the comedy element was very present in the film. It had a great colour to the film, very vibrant, I thought it was well made, I could watch it more then once, that's for sure.

To sum it up, I really liked it, I laughed allot!

Gnomeo and Juliet

Review:
This had the basic story line of Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet". You know two families that don't get along, because of ancient history, two young people fall in love one from each of the feuding families.. It was the same in that aspect, but this included some ally racing and a few ceramic law decorations.. all of which naturally talk. It was alright. It was pretty funny the first time I watched it, but really quite boring the second and third. There was really only two characters I liked, one a trusty sidekick and the other a strange bird. It was bright and full of energy, kids would like it for that. But I wouldn't say it's one of those movies that the whole family would enjoy... More then once.

To sum it up, eh it was alright.

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

My Review:
I really liked it. It was well voiced, and the designers really knew how to capture a picture, and not to mention the artist who put a boat load of work into it. It was beautifully made in that sense. Also as some might know it is an analogy of World War Two, and you see the when you watch it. Some owls representing the Jews, other minorities, and those who helped them. And the others representing the Aryans. While WWII was a long time ago, it really wasn't that long ago. It happened in my grandparents lifetimes, and yet people are forgetting all the horrific thing that happened. I think this movie had a great way of putting that war and it really made it interesting. And it was just a good movie. It would be a bit scary for some, especially some young. But I would definitely recommend it to people for their entertainment and for the educational value, you can learn allot from a movie like this.

To sum it up, surely worth watching.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Plot:
Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes) return to Narnia, this time without their two older siblings, but with their annoying cousin Eustace (Will Poulter). Off to a new mission, to save Narnia.

My Review:
It was like all the other Narnia films, though the acting has become better as the actors have gotten older. It was pretty good, I watched it twice. It's one of those movies that you could watch over. I'm not super fond of the Narnia films, I just don't like the half human - half animals, that's really one of the main reasons I don't like it all that much. But it was made well, good quality. Really a good family movie, fun for every one, except the overly sensitive, as it does have a few intense parts. But over all, a good movie.

To sum it up, it was a good family film.

Knight and Day

June (Cameron Diaz) Havens has a normal life, until she get caught up with a former CIA agent Roy (Tom Cruise) Miller who was framed, and is on the lam. Can they prove him innocent?

My Review:
To my surprise, it was hilarious! I mean honestly Tom Cruise funny? Yes. It was good, it was unpredictable at times, which is always a plus. It had some language that might surprise people, but not to much. It was an average action-adventure-comedy. I liked, I laughed some.

To sum it up, it was entertaining.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Plot;
Scott (Michael Cera) Pilgrim fell in love with a girl named Ramona (Mary Winstead) Flower, and had to battle her 7 ex's in a world of wild animation.

My Review:
The funny thing about this plot is that it's kind of hard to explain, I actually liked it allot. It was really funny but you kind of felt like it was supposed to be serious sometimes. It was a unique movie in it's animation, because as time went on it became more and more like a comic book. Michael Cera was great in this, he was the perfect choice for this role. I only said a little bit about the plot but that was because, there isn't really a whole lot to say. Scott was in a failing band, met Ramona and now is battling her evil ex's. It had wacky battle sequences, it was good. I wasn't really expecting to like it, but I did. I was surprisingly clean, I'm not saying it was, because it wasn't, but I am saying for the cast and plot it was surprisingly clean. But it does deserve it's rating.

To sum it up, it was pretty funny.

True Grit

Released: 22Nd of December, 2010.
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Western.

Plot:
It has the same basic plot as the original True Grit , there were a few changes, but nothing that needs to be mentioned. Obviously the cast changed, Jeff Bridges was Reuben J. 'Rooster' Cogburn, and Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross.

My Review:
As a fan of the original it was hard to go see, but I am glad I did. I honestly did not like the plot changes, I though they seemed unlikely and not needed, but aside from that I liked it. I am not fond of Jeff Bridges acting, but I thought he played Rooster well, it quite surprised me, over all as a general I thought the casting was good. The film quality was good. Over all it was a well made movie, I wasn't interested enough maybe to watch it again, or buy it, but perhaps if it was on television and I flipped to that channel I might watch it again.

To sum it up, it was pretty good, but not as good as the original.

True Grit (Original)

Plot;
After the death of her father Mattie (Kim Darby) Ross sent out to find her fathers killer, but she couldn't do this on her own. So she asked around and finally found the meanest marshal in town Reuben J. (John Wayne) 'Rooster' Cogburn. After some time persuading him he agreed to go hunt down Quincy (Jeremy Slate), Mr.Ross' killer. But before they could leave they were joined by a man also hunting down Quincy, La Boeuf (Glen Campbell), though Maddie didn't want him going, Rooster said other wise. They had quite the events, and almost caught Quincy, but instead he got Maddie. Rooster and La Boeuf were able to get Maddie back, but not without a few consequences, Maddie was bitten by a snake so Rooster had to race to get her to a doctor, and La Boeuf died. Maddie recovered and her fathers murder was avenged. And Maddie asked Rooster an odd request when he came to visit her after she recovered, she asked if he would be buried in the family cemetery when he died, and he agreed.

My Review;
First off it's John Wayne, so you know it's going to be pretty good. This movie is one of those ones where you're watching it and you get excided because you know he’s going to beat them. It's one of my favourite Wayne westerns. It just has that classic feel, with the beautiful scenes, and colour. The acting was pretty good, though I thought the girl was a little over the top, and Le Beouf could have been played by someone who wasn't Glen Campbell. But over all it was good.

To sum it up, watch it, if for nothing else, John Wayne.

Plot;
This is about the world after a great war, a war where it was man versus machine. There was a scientist who built this machine that learned from it's mistakes, this could be so valuable, but it fell into the wrong hands and was taken over by a villain who turned the machine evil, the machine soon started a war, it started building more machines that it would control, in this battle of man and machine, machine won. But before the scientist took his last breath he built these little men, these creatures, but he didn't build him like he built the machine, he didn't build them with is mind, he built them with his soul. There were nine of them, he built them to continue on earth, to be the future, to shut down the machine. When 9(Elijah Wood) was born, you could say, he came out of the house where he was built and searched for others, like him. He soon found them. They were hesitant to try and shut down the machine, but eventually they did, through some great adventures. They are left with only four of them, but that was enough, the machine was defeated, it was there world now, it was what they made of it.

My Review;
Because of this movie I liked Tim Burton, I soon found that this was one of only a few that I liked of his, but it was good. This movie was so different from many movies that I had seen, it was dark but had it's happy moments still. I think this was better then most of the movies where machines take over the world, because it wasn't shown from a humans perspective, and that I think is what made it unique. I will warn you that you must not let it being a cartoon fool you, it deserves it's PG13 rating, it's not a kids movie.

To sum it up, if you're into those kind of movies, watch it.

The Goonies

Plot;
After finding out that their parents where loosing their house, and a golf course was going to be built on top of their town, Mikey (Sean Astin) Walsh thinks that there has to be something they can do. So while on a venture up to their attic Mikey, all his friends, and his brother Bran (Josh Brolin) Walsh find a map that says it leads to treasure. So it's decided they would all go on a treasure hunt, well almost decided, Bran didn't like that idea. Mikey then thought it best to just tie Bran up so his friends and him could find this treasure and save their whole town. Off set Mikey, Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Mouth (Corey Feldman), Data (Jonathan Ke Quan), and Sloth (John Matuszak) and on the hunt they ran into the Fratelli family who were know robbers. After Bran and two girls Andy (Kerri Green) and Stef (Martha Plimpton) finds them they join in the search because now with the Fratelli's after them, they have no choice but to run. The find their way through the tunnel and through a series of wacky events, finally make it to the treasure, only to find that the Fratelli's had followed them. But eventually, they get the money and save their town.

My Review;
Until yesterday I hadn't watched The Goonies in probably five years. It is such a fun movie, though I didn't remember the kids cussing so much. It is such a creative movie. The whole journey on the way to the treasure was awesome, the person who thought up that part of the movie was great. Also I would definitely want to have a friend like Data, so cool! I liked it, I didn't love it. It was a really good movie, but for me it just didn't get to that greatness. There was no huge moment of suspense, not that every movie should have that, or that movies should stick to the formula, as most sadly do, it's just that it wasn't phenomenal.

To sum it up, It was okay, not a must see.

How To Train Your Dragon

Plot;
In a Viking village filled with tough fierce warriors there was the most great of all the leader of the village Stoick (Gerard Butler), and then their was his son Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) who was not so strong, and not so fierce. After so many failed attempts of killing a dragon, once he actually did no one believed him. He searched all through the forest until finally he came upon it, it was dark as night, he started to kill it, but he couldn't, so he set it free. It tried to fly but it could not, it was hurt. Hiccup couldn't just leave it to die in this valley in the mountains, so he started feeding it, then he thought maybe he could fix the dragons tail, so he did just that. Then he thought maybe he could ride it, but it didn't work because he just fell off the dragon. So he made a saddle for the dragon. He made a steering mechanism. Then one day Hiccup was in trouble, so his dragon came and saved him, but his dragon was captured by his village. And his father, the leader, found out that Hiccup's dragon knew the way to the dragon's nest. The whole village hated dragons because they would steal the villagers food, but Hiccup had found out that the dragon's only stole food because they had to to feed the great-dragon. Then the villagers followed Hiccup's dragon to the dragon nest, and there was a great battle. In the mean time, Hiccup taught all the other kids in the village how to fly dragons, and they flew out to try and stop the others from releasing the great-dragon, but it was too late! So Hiccup got aboard his dragon, and he fought the great-dragon, and won though he almost lost his life, and he did lose his leg. The villagers saw how good the dragons were, and all learned to ride them, and finally the Dragons and Vikings were at peace.

My Review;
It was good I liked it, I would watch it again. It was funny, and it had some drama, but it wasn't like so many cartoons that try to have all this drama in it and it just makes it not funny. It was good, I'd recommend it to really any one who likes cartoons. It was good.

To sum it up,if you like cartoons watch it.

Rescue Dawn

Plot;
Laos, Vietnam, A pilots first mission. Lt. Dieter (Bale) Dengler, was flying over Laos when his plane was shot down. After a while of running he was found drinking from a stream. He was tortured and taken to a camp where he was held along with 5 other prisoners, 2 of them American. He quickly devised a plot to escape. After plotting and planning they were ready, they broke free on July 3rd. They met up after the break, by that time there was only 4 of them. They split up Duane (Steve Zahn) went with Dengler, it is unknown what happened to the other two who split from them. Duane and Dengler traveled for days trying to get to safety. They traveled through harsh Teriann, awful weather, and suffered numerous injuries. After so long they came upon a village where, to put it in a way, Dengler escaped by inches and he was now alone. At last some one had found him, some one who would take him home. He was picked up by helicopters and taken to a hospital to recover. Also he was confined until he could be debriefed, because his mission was top-secret. Some friends from his out-fit heard of his rescue, and came to visit. They were anxious to get him back to the ship to have a proper welcome, so they snuck him out of the hospital, and brought him home.

My Review;
It was good. I had only heard about this movie from others reviews until recently when I bought it. I must say, it was worth buying without first watching. The story was so inspiring and it was, in fact, a true story. Dieter Dengler never gave up, he never quit trying to get home. Though he never got some secret information that ended the war of anything, he was a true hero, he was the story of a great American. He was a story of endurance, of faith, of strength. This movie was great. I think it really shows just how much our soldiers go through to keep us safe at home.

To sum it up, I liked it, it is a great historical film. I recommend it.

Robin Hood

Plot;
As most already know the story of Robin Hood, I will keep the plot short. Robin (Russell Crowe) Longstride was in battle when King Richard (Danny Huston)the Lion Heart was killed, him and a few of his fellow soldiers left, and later came upon a few who had been ambushed, these few were the men who were chosen to carry home the crown to London. Robin and his friends took the place of the men chosen to carry the crown, thinking it as a ticket home. Robin also promised that he would return the sword of one of the men, Sir Robert (Douglase Hodge) Loxley, to his father Sir Walter (Max von Sydow) Loxley. When he arrived he found out the troubles that the town was having and Sir Walter, asked if he would stand as Walters returning son, as Marion (Cate Blanchett) Loxley's husband. He agreed. The fought the corrupt and won the battle of France Vs. England. But at was not all great and merry after the triumph. King (Oscar Isaac) John was jealous of peoples love for Robin, and so declared him an outlaw.

My Review;
Let me start off by saying, who didn't like Friar Tuck played by Mark Addy? He was great. The cast of this movie was awesome, and with a writer like Brian Helgland, and Ridley Scott directing you're asking for some pretty great action. But the line-up shouldn't make the movie, and believe me it doesn't, Robin Hood has more than just some great people, it had good writing, perfect timing, great pace, wonderful cinematography, it was truly a joy to watch. There were only a few scenes of nudity, and virtually no language. I loved it. I think if you're thinking about weather to watch the theatrical version or directors cut? I would go with Directors Cut, it really gives you more insight, and I feel like you really get more out of it if you don't miss those scenes.

To sum it up, if you like action awesomeness rent it, it's worth it.

Plot;
The sky people (Humans) invade a moon called Pandora, where the Na'vi people live, so that they can harvest a substance called "unobtainium" that is worth billions back on earth. Along with the people who are just there for the rocks, are people who are there to study and learn about the natives. When one of the scientists who were studying the people dies, they call in his ex-marine brother to take his place because the are related and he can activate his brothers "Avatar". Soon the scientists realise just how corrupt the heads of this operation are, and join forces with the natives to try and save the world that they live on from the destruction of the sky people.

My Review;
First off I'd like to say that the world that was created, Pandora, was very interesting. It had great colour, and the Na'vi people had an interesting past. Though the animation was good, I didn't like the scene when they first meet the great toruk, it seemed very fake in comparison to the rest of the scenes with the bird-like-creatures, it looked like paper mache on a string. And one of the more interesting things was that the amazing substance that was so hard to obtain, was called "unobtainium", I know that "unobtainium" is a true scientific term, but really? They could have come up with something a little more creative. Over all it was alright, but I probably won't watch it again. Personally I got kind of bored watching it. It still had the same typical plot. It was good in a sense of it just being an average movie, made in 8 months, or a year because of all the animation. But because James Cameron has been working on this movie 15 years, I heard, it just doesn't seem that fantastic.

To sum it up, I could give or take it.
