Mothra vs. Godzilla

*This may contain spoilers*
Rating: Not Rated
Staring: Akira Takarada and Yuriko Hoshi
Released: 17th of September, 1964
Genre: Action, Drama, Horror, Sci-Fi

My review,
It is hard to describe quite what this is about. It's really one of those things you should see for yourself. And it has it all, mysterious thing that washes on shore, miniature twins who sing, reporters, a dinosaur, a big city, and a little island, crazy island natives, an evil large corporation, two armies and a giant moth. Really, what else do you need? It's really what you would expect from a Sci-Fi movie filmed in Japan in the 1960's. If you've seen the original Godzilla, it's going to be very similar to that.

To sum it up, I enjoyed it.

Flash Gordon

Rating: PG
Staring: Sam J. Jones and Ornella Muti
Released: 5th of December, 1980.
Genre: Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Thriller.

My review,
This movie just really makes me laugh. I can't listen to Queen without thinking of this movie. To put it shortly, it's ridiculous. It's what you'd expect of a 1980 sci-fi movie. I'm not saying go out of your way to watch it... But if it's on, and you can bear it, it's pretty funny. When I say bear it, I say it in mind of not only what the movie is about, but mostly because of the acting, and the outfits, well, really, everything. The movie is funny, in a "You've got to be kidding me?" kind of way. There's no real way of explaining it, a way of putting into words  this movie. I would say, watch it once and never again.

To sum it up, it's pretty funny.

17 Again

Rating: PG13 for "Language, some sexual material, and teen partying"
Staring: Zach Efron, and Matthew Perry
Genre: Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Romance.
Released: 17th of April, 2009

My Review.
This movie shows a side that before we hadn't seen, when it came out many knew him as the guy from high school musical, and I don't know about you but that did not sound like someone I would want to see on anything else. But I think he really proved himself. He was funny, and charming, and played his part well. The movie had good timing, which really helps to make a comedy not just funny, but worth while. Some movie makers have a good story line, and lose it. But I think they played it well. It is one of those movies I'll watch again, and even buy, for a day where I just want something funny.

To sum it up, It's funny, and well timed.

The Music Never Stopped

*This may contain spoilers*

Rating: PG for "thematic elements, some mild drug references, language and smoking"
Staring: J.K. Simmons, and Lou Taylor Pucci
Genre: Drama
Released: 27th of October, 2011

My Review,
You know, I really enjoyed it. The music was wonderful, and the acting was great! The Music Never Stopped is a true story that grips the hearts of anyone who's struggling to understand their children-or children their parents. It takes the fact that every one interacts differently and intensifies it. In this film it's either communicate how they understand, or don't communicate at all. Lou Taylor Pucci is one to watch, and J.K. Simmons gave his usual fantastic performance. I think some could argue who was right in this movie, should they have stuck it out, or changed? But I think really the point of the film is not political or any sort of hidden agenda, but really I think it's about accepting each other, and loving each other, always.

To sum it up, I would recommend it to people who like Billy Elliot and Listen to Your Heart, and Juno.

Listen to Your Heart

Rating: NR. (I would say PG-13, for intense scenes, mild language, and sexual content)
Staring: Kent Moran, and Alexia Rasmussen.
Genre: Drama, Music, Romance
Released: 2010

My review,
I really liked it. I really did. It won quite a few awards a different festivals. It was sad, and it was good. The acting wasn't the best I've ever seen, but the movie as a whole was wonderful. I thought Alexia Ramussen played her part beautifully, I feel like she was the perfect actor for the role, definitely someone to watch! It was written by one of the main characters in the movie, Kent Moran, I would love to have a look at that script, it was very well written. I felt like it gave you enough time, but not too much time on each point. I felt like it went through the usual drama-romance film routine early on, so it could focus on something else, some greater thing. Needless to say I cried through half the movie. I did a bit of searching, but I couldn't find any rating, but based on an average of films out now I would say it is a PG13 film, but on the lower side of that, more towards PG. It's a good watch, especially if you're looking for a good tear jerker.

To sum it up, I would certainly recommend it.

The Vow

*this may contain spoilers*

Rating: PG13 "Accident scene, sexual content, partial nudity, and some language"
Staring: Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum
Genre: Drama, Romance
Released: 10th of February, 2012

My Review:
I enjoyed the movie, I thought Channing Tatum gave a beautiful performance, certainly my favourite of his. I love that it was based on a true story. That of Kim and Kricket Carpenter. I wish they had shown the Christian element of the life of Carpenters, to them it was very important, and they give God credit for bringing them close and keeping their marriage together. And because it was based on the true story, it has those twists that real life does. It's not like one of those predictable romantic movie, where you can, literally, see everything that's going to happen. I liked it, I thought McAdams and Tatum were a great on screen match, and I think the movie was well made. Again I say, I just really enjoyed Channing Tatum's performance. I personally also really enjoyed the end, though I think it will leave some unhappy.

To sum it up, if you like romantic movies, I think you'll like this.

Peter Pan

*This may contain spoilers*

Rating: PG
Staring: Jeremy Sumpter and Jason Isaacs
Genre: Adventure, Family, Fantasy
Released: 25th of December, 2003

My Review:
I love this live action adaption of the classic children's story. Peter Pan has always been a favourite of mine when I was growing up. In this one I think they really give you a good picture of just what Peter meant to Never Land, and why he didn't want to grow up. I think the movie had that really magical feeling to it, just like Peter Pan should. Traveling to Never Land should be out of this world, and it wasn't this fantastical Oz or Wonka Chocolate Factory, but that wasn't what it was supposed to be. It was an island filled with fairies and mermaids and pirates. I thought Jeremy was a great choice for Peter, and Rachel Hurd-Wood played a wonderful Wendy. I liked it allot.

To sum it up, it is a great version.

Fast Five

*This may contain spoilers*

Rating: PG13 "Violence, Action, Sexual content, and Language"
Staring: Vin Diesil and Paul Walker
Genre: Crime, action, thriller
Released: 29th of April, 2011

My Review:
I enjoyed it, it is probably my favourite of the series! For starters it takes place in one of my favourite cities Rio De Janero, Brazil. It has nice cars, good driving, and the taking down or helping to take down a crime boss, what's there not to love? Well made, alright acting. I've never been real fond of Dwayne Johnson's acting abilities, but aside from that it was good. I would say if you liked the other Fast movies, you will really love this one. I would say of the actual quality of the movie this one is the best in the series. I also feel like it wrapped up some things that you wanted to see and end to.

To sum it up, I'd say watch it. I liked it.

Law Abiding Citizen

I'm going to start by giving you some film stats, about the plot, then go into my review. *WARNING - THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*

Rating: R for, "strong bloody brutal violence and torture, a scene of rape, and pervasive language"
Staring: Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler.
Released: 16th October, 2009.
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller.

Plot:
Clyde (Gerard Butler) Shelton's family was killed, and the man who did it got off with not much but a scratch. Would Clyde just let that go? Would he try and avenge his families death? If he did, could he be stopped?

My Review:
It was good, but it did have allot of intense parts. It wasn't as scary as many had said, though the torture scene would make most people uneasy. It had great acting, and a good plot, I think the movie came together well. I will warn you there is a scene of rape, though not explicit, and not disgusting. You can get the idea across that something bad happened without showing it, and this movie did that.

To sum it up, not for everyone, but it was okay.
